Zu'bi succeeds Majali as population council secretary general

AMMAN — Maysoon Zu'bi on Monday assumed her position as secretary general of the Higher Population Council (HPC), replacing Sawsan Majali, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Zu'bi has previously served as secretary general of the Ministry of Water from 2009-2012, and as chief policy analyst at the Royal Court's economic department.
She holds a master's degree in civil engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and a bachelor's degree in the same field from the University of Jordan. The HPC is the official authority dealing with population studies and information, notably concerning its relation with development, according to Petra.
